The Workman brings archaeological finds in a wheelbarrow from the Digsite to the Varrock Museum for examination.
He cannot be interacted with in any way, and will constantly move between the Digsite and the Varrock Museum to fill and empty his wheelbarrow respectively. He engages in numerous dialogues with other NPCs he passes along the way.

Trivia
- The Workman is one of the only NPCs (excluding some that only appear in cutscenes) capable of moving at a running speed, due to having a fixed path.
- There is an unused variant of the Workman who cannot presently be seen anywhere in-game.
