Trivia

  • Several of the miners have examine text which are cultural references:
    • Secretly, he'd like to save princesses and eat mushrooms is a reference to the popular Nintendo game Super Mario Bros, that the miners have a similar colour scheme and outfit to the protagonist of.
    • He could have been a great ballet dancer if they'd let him try... is likely a reference to the famous British movie Billy Elliot.
    • He became a miner after his agoraphobia stopped him doing Sailing. is likely a reference to the failed 2015 proposal of the Sailing skill.
    • M C Pickaxe in da house! is most likely a reference to the popular rap artist MC Hammer.
      • I mine in ma' mine, where I mine all da time... and ... an' da whole place is mine, from da rocks to da slime! is likely a reference to a tweet made by Mod Ash in 2013, with these being lyrics to a song by MC Pickaxe.[1]
    • Professional miners don't actually whistle while they work. is a reference to the song "Heigh Ho - Whistle While You Work" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
    • Mine mine mine mine MINE! could be a reference to "The Mine Song" from the Icelandic children's show LazyTown.
  • When a miner is struck by a rockfall he will scream Ow!, but will take no damage.
  • Despite appearing to mine ore veins in the Motherlode Mine, miners will not consume the vein like a player does.
