Ore veins are found in the Motherlode Mine and are mined for pay-dirt, yielding 60 Mining experience each. On the lower level, veins disappear 23-27 seconds after they were first mined.

Ore veins on the upper level and lower level outer ring respawn after 100 ticks or 60 seconds. Veins on the lower level inner ring take 150 ticks or 90 seconds to respawn. Veins not being mined at the time they should deplete will still allow for one ore to be mined from them before becoming completely depleted. Veins on the lower level will keep that state, when they get mined their respawn time will be shorter the longer they stayed in that state. On the upper level, veins will fully reset after 60 seconds of being in that state.^[1]

The veins also have a chance to give uncut gems. The amulet of glory's mining effect can be used to increase the chance of receiving a gem.

With 57 Mining (cannot be boosted), Prospector Percy can be paid a one-time fee of 100 golden nuggets to be granted permission to the upper level of the mine, which is accessible via the ladder near the bank chest. The upper level contains 64 additional ore veins that are closer to each other compared to the lower level. The upper level veins disappear 36-40 seconds after they were first mined.

Clue geodes cannot be obtained from ore veins in the Motherlode Mine.

A chatbox warning will prevent players from mining more pay-dirt from the veins if their sack is full.

Pre roll drops

The mining gem drop table has a 1/256 chance to roll on every mining attempt;^[2] if the player is wearing a charged amulet of glory, amulet of glory (t), or amulet of eternal glory, the probability increases to 1/64.2.^[3]^[4] If the table successfully rolls, the player may receive an uncut gem or nothing, and in either case can not receive an ore.^[5] This neither depletes the rock nor grants Mining experience. The rates shown are for every mining attempt.
