A hopper is used in the Motherlode Mine to deposit pay-dirt into the watering circuit. After the pay-dirt has been cleaned, it can be collected from the sack nearby. Pay-dirt that would overflow the sack's capacity will not be deposited into the hopper. A simple strategy to avoid having excess of pay-dirt is to deposit in bulks of 27 (due to the sack's capacity), which can be easily done by carrying a gem bag.
Bonus experience is earned when ores are cleaned from deposited pay-dirt. The bonus experience varies based on which ores are processed from the pay-dirt.
A hopper can be found on the main and upper floors of the Motherlode Mine, however the latter must be unlocked with 50 golden nuggets from Prospector Percy.
