The sack found in Motherlode Mine holds the cleaned ores received by depositing pay-dirt into the hoppers. Players deposit pay-dirt into the hopper, where it is then carried by flowing water into the sack at the end of the water circuit. The sack has a capacity of 108 pay-dirt, and can be upgraded to hold 189 pay-dirt by paying 200 golden nuggets to Prospector Percy.

Pay-dirt that would overflow the sack's capacity will not be deposited into the hoppers. A simple strategy to avoid having excess of pay-dirt is to deposit in bulks of 27 (since 108 = 27x4 and 189 = 27x7), which can be easily done by carrying a gem bag or hammer.

• When removing ores from the sack, they are placed in the inventory in order of tier, with a random quantity of ore selected from each tier.^[1] This repeats until the inventory is full or the sack is empty.
