Sunstone rocks

Sunstone rocks are Mining rocks located only on Wyrmscraig that can be mined at level 50 Mining to produce Sunstone, which is used in golem crafting.

Sunstone rocks are affected by Mining enhancers. Mining Sunstone rock with an Infernal pickaxe will sometimes destroy the Sunstone, giving 2 Smithing XP in the process.

Players can mine the rocks like any other mining rock. However, after successfully mining a Sunstone rock, players activate momentum for 5 ticks. Mining another sunstone rock with momentum active will have a higher chance to succeed, scaling from 75% success rate at level 50 Mining to a 100% success rate at level 92. While players have momentum, they also have a 20% chance to mine an additional chunk on their next successful mining attempt. This works additively with mining enhancers.

Using a Dragon pickaxe or Crystal pickaxe can cause momentum to end prematurely.
