Granite rocks are Mining rocks that can be mined at level 45 Mining to produce granite. They can be found in the quarry south of Bandit Camp, at the Necropolis mine in the Necropolis, and at the Cape Conch mine on The Great Conch island. The first two areas are subject to desert heat, so players mining there need waterskins, the circlet of water, or the Desert amulet 4 to avoid taking damage.

Granite respawns quickly, so that a player can mine continuously at a group of only 3-4 rocks, making it useful for fast Mining training. Granite rocks are also a popular place to utilize advanced tick manipulation techniques for the fastest XP rates.

To increase granite yield, it is recommended to wear the following mining enhancers, as they have the chance to activate while mining granite:

  • Celestial ring and Varrock armour 2 or higher gives a 10% chance to mine an extra granite of the same size, and can be used together.
  • Mining cape gives a 5% chance to mine an extra granite of the same size.

Granite rocks cannot give gems, though clue scrolls can be obtained from them.

Rocks deplete and produce one granite on every successful mining attempt, though more be gained using special equipment.

The probability to receive a particular weight of granite on a given mining attempt scales with Mining level according to the figure below. The chance to receive any granite varies from 42.0% at level 45 to 68.2% at level 99.

Equipment

  • Varrock armour 2, 3, and 4 give a 10% chance to receive an extra granite of the same size.
  • Celestial rings and signets provide an invisible +4 boost to Mining level, regardless of charges. When charged with stardust, they also give a 10% chance to receive an extra granite of the same size.
  • Prospector kit boosts Mining experience by 2.5%.
  • Mining capes give a 5% chance to receive an extra granite of the same size.
  • Several items such as the desert amulet 4 can be used to nullify or delay the effects of desert heat.
  • Varrock armour, celestial rings, and Mining capes roll independently; multiple bonus resources can be given.
  • Mining gloves and all their variants have no effect.
