Cargo hold
The ship's cargo hold interface.

Cargo holds are storage units that can be built on a boat's facility hotspot. Boosts can be used to create the cargo hold, and the boost does not need to be maintained in order to use it, unlike most other ship facilities. The cargo hold will not accept noted items; if intending to fill up the hold with repair kits, they must be deposited one unnoted inventory at a time.

Storable items

Courier crates, bounty items, shipwreck salvage, trawling fish, and fish-filled crates will be lost if the boat is transported via Summon Boat or if a shipwright recovers the boat for any reason. Other items such as cannonballs, repair kits, fish offcuts, and empty fish crates will be kept.

Note: The captain's log, spyglass, current duck, crowbar, and diving gear do not take up any space when stored, and are accessible from all boats when stored in any of them.

Tiers

A hammer and saw is required to build the cargo holds and each one can be modified via a left-click where the player is given the option to replace it or completely remove it. Replacing allows the player to either upgrade or downgrade the cargo hold.
