An iron helm is a core boat part used to navigate the ocean. It is built via the boat schematics board at the Shipyard, requiring level 17 Sailing and 14 Construction, granting a variable amount of Construction experience depending on the type of boat.

An iron helm or better is required to resist gentle rapids.
