An anchor is a boat facility that can be built on a boat to keep it in place while at sea. It can be built at specific facility hotspots on the boat, requiring level 37 Sailing and 29 Construction, granting 176 Construction experience.

At sea, the anchor can be dropped and raised by clicking on it. As the player must be standing on the anchor to interact with it, the anchor cannot be dropped or raised while navigating with the helm. While the anchor is down, the boat can rotate in place but not move. Dropping the anchor stops the boat faster than lowering the sails.

Currently, the anchor has little practical use and is primarily used in situations where you may want to rotate the boat without moving it, such as switching between 2 nearby shipwrecks.

Most players forego building the anchor due to its limited functionality. It also occupies a facility hotspot for movement facilities such as the Wind catcher, and its location near the helm can easily cause misclicks.
