Boat bottles are a single-use item obtained rarely from sorting low-tier salvage from shipwrecks. It is used to "place" a player's boat into their inventory, allowing them to transport it to another port from land. This is useful for moving boats without a teleport focus built on them.

Using the "Bottle-boat" option on an empty bottle requires an empty cargo hold, as well as being at a docking point. When using the "Unbottle-boat" option on a full bottle, players will receive a confirmation message before doing so. The bottle will be lost when the player releases the boat.

Compared with the cost of recovering a boat in order to move it to a different port, using a boat bottle on a raft will result in a profit/loss of −21,477 coins, with a skiff −17,602 coins, and with a sloop 28,273 coins.

A bottle containing a boat is always kept on death and can only be destroyed using the bank incinerator. If destroyed, the boat can be recovered at a shipwright.
