Iron nails are nails made with an iron bar on an anvil with a hammer in the player's inventory, requiring level 19 Smithing, yielding 15 iron nails and granting 25 Smithing experience per bar. Additionally, players can obtain iron nails in sets of ten from the workbench north of the tanner in the Kebos Lowlands. They can also be bought from a few shops, most notably the Sawmill, as well as the Shipyard, which can be teleported to for free by any Shipwright found at major ports.

Iron nails can be used to construct certain types of wooden furniture. With 18 Fletching, they can be used on flighted ogre arrows to create iron brutal arrows, granting 2.6 Fletching experience per arrow. With 56 Crafting, fifteen iron nails can be used with a willow shield and two pieces of snakeskin to craft a snakeskin shield, granting 100 Crafting experience per shield.
