The fishbowl helmet is obtained from Murphy during the Freeing Pirate Pete subquest of the Recipe for Disaster quest in exchange for a fishbowl. After the quest it can be obtained for free. It can be equipped alongside the diving apparatus as a source of unlimited oxygen to explore the Mogre Camp and other underwater areas. After completion of the Freeing Pirate Pete subquest, it and the diving apparatus can be stored in the cargo hold of a player's boat for use in sea charting with mermaid guides.

In The Great Brain Robbery, this helmet is used with the diving apparatus, to dive in the underwater tunnel on Harmony Island. It is useful in the underwater area of Fossil Island as well.

If you lose the fishbowl helmet, Murphy will give you a new one if you choose the diving option when talking to him. He will not give the helmet if the player has one stored in the bank, but he does not check the player's boat or tackle box.

It can be stored in a tackle box.
