A bottle of the endless night is an alcoholic drink acquired by prying open a sealed crate in the Idestia Strait, just south-east of Etceteria. Doing so requires a crowbar in the inventory, which in turn requires completion of Prying Times to obtain.

Drinking the bottle grants 75 Sailing experience and, if Throne of Miscellania has been completed, also modifies the player's approval in Managing Miscellania by reducing it approximately 19% (unless the starting approval is lower than 20%, in which case the player's approval is increased to 25% instead).^[a] If Throne of Miscellania has not been completed then drinking the bottle only grants experience.

Despite the examine text's warning, a bottle of the endless day does not currently exist.

Notes

^ The player's Miscellania approval is stored as a number between 0 and 127 and that value is divided by 127 to calculate approval as a percentage (truncated to a whole number). Drinking this bottle subtracts 24 from the current approval value, so depending on the initial value it may reduce approval by either 18% or 19% (because 24 is ~18.89% of 127). However, if the initial value is less than 24 (0-23) that intended subtraction would result in a negative approval, which is not allowed. So, instead of producing a negative result, the game resets the approval to the default minimum of 32 (equivalent to 25%). As that default value (32) is greater the small initial values (0-23) that generate it, that means that the bottle's subtraction effect sometimes results in a paradoxical increase of the overall approval rating.
