A player drinking a bottle from a sealed crate.

Sealed crates are encountered while Sailing, as part of the sea charting activity, and can be pried open with a crowbar after completion of Prying Times. There are currently a total of 65 sealed crates.

These crates contain a variety of forgotten drinks, some of which are capable of harming the player or deleting all courier task cargo when sampled. Regular cargo, such as cannonballs, will not be lost with the direct effects of these bottles. In order to sample these bottles, players must be anywhere aboard a boat, including in the Shipyard, and cannot be navigating the boat.

Most bottles can only be sampled once, and doing so grants the player 75 Sailing experience. A select number of drinks can be resampled, but will not award XP on subsequent sips.

Trivia

  • Crate drinks summoning pink NPCs is likely a reference to the phrase "seeing pink elephants", which is used as a euphemism for drunken hallucinations.
