Winter's Edge

Brittle Isle is an island in the Northern Ocean requiring 81 Sailing to dock at, found north-west of Lunar Isle and north-east of Great Kourend. An Eternal brazier is required to access the island as the waters freeze you and slow your boat.

A lockbox and reinforced chest can be found on the island, along with a trawling shoal just south-west of the island. The lockbox contains the rosewood & cotton sails schematic and is opened with the small key (charred island).

A cave can be found on the island, blocked off with the same type of door found on the Island of Stone that sealed the Jormungand's Prison. Inspecting the door gives the message: "There is an inscription upon the door: When the serpent king roams free once more, Hati and Sköll wage their war. To the End of Things all will yield, but until that day this door stays sealed."

There are five snowy knight spawns on the island. There are three accessible dead trees. An iron battleaxe spawn can also be found on the south-west of the island.

The island is also visited for a Master Treasure Trail emote clue. A STASH storage unit for the clue can be constructed in a rock in the north-east of the island.

Trivia

  • In a Sailing poll blog, it was mentioned that a forge on the island could be used to smith cannonballs at twice the typical speed. However, the forge was instead added to Grimstone.
  • Hati and Sköll, mentioned in the door, are two wolves in Norse mythology who chase the moon and sun respectively and will devour them as Ragnarök, the end of the world, commences. They also appear as seasonal boss encounters in RuneScape 3 (see Hati and Sköll).
