The Iron Sea is part of the Eastern Ocean, lying south-east of the Kharidian Desert. It connects to Scabaras' Shallows to the north, Tainted Tides and the Cursed Archipelago to the east, the Tortugan Sea to the south-west, and the Bay of Elidinis to the west.
The peninsula on which Jaltevas Pyramid sits juts into the Iron Sea. In the inlet to the north, two unnamed islands can be found.

Trivia
- In the March 2025 Sailing Alpha, the northern part of this area of ocean was named "Kharidian Ridge" and the southern part was named "Cursed Depths". Those labels were replaced with "The Iron Sea" in the June 2025 Sailing Beta.
