According to Smith, he lost his right hand at the wrist while fighting the Customs and Excise Office off the coast of Karamja, hence the brass hand. He lost his left arm to a canister round.
- Harry's model in the Sailing alpha and beta incorrectly displayed him as having his left arm intact. This may have been because the model was based off of the updated RuneScape 3 model rather than the original model from 2008, which correctly showed him as missing his left arm.
Brass Hand Harry is the original owner of Harry's cutlass.
- Despite this, using his cutlass on him yields the message Nothing interesting happens..
Brass Hand Harry was originally added along with Rocking Out on 11 June 2008, and was found on the second floor of Mos Le'Harmless's Harpoon Joe's House of 'Rum'. He was one of five captains you needed to talk to in order to gain a Captain's Mark, a process which involved repairing his brass hand.
