The Cooking cape can be purchased for 99,000 coins alongside the Cooking hood from the Head chef at the Cooks' Guild by players who have achieved skill mastery (level 99) in Cooking. It is the Cape of Accomplishment for the Cooking skill. Cooking capes are purple in colour, and have a red trim if the player has more than one level 99 skill.

Like all skill capes, the Cooking cape gives +9 to all defensive stats, and also a +4 bonus to prayer if it is trimmed, which requires a separate skill at level 99. The cape is automatically trimmed if this condition is met.

When the Cooking cape is equipped, players will never burn food. The only exception to this is raw oomlie, which is impossible to successfully cook. It can also be used in place of a chef's hat or varrock armour 3/4 to enter the Cooking Guild.

This item can be stored in the cape rack of a costume room, as part of the Cooking cape set, along with the hood. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.

As of 1 August 2026, there are 481,041 players that have achieved level 99 in Cooking.
