Spirit angler's outfit

The spirit angler's outfit is a cosmetic variant of the angler's outfit that grants 2.5% additional experience when worn while training the Fishing skill. Wearing the complete set also acts as a rope for tethering to totem poles and masts while battling Tempoross.

Showing the outfit to Kylie Minnow is suitable to gain access to the minnows in the Fishing Guild, but does not need to be equipped. Pieces of the spirit angler's outfit can be equipped alongside pieces of the angler's outfit for the purpose of receiving the extra 0.5% set XP bonus.^[1]

Equipping any piece in the set requires level 34 Fishing. Bonus experience is not granted for random events, experience lamps, or experience tomes. Like the angler's outfit, it does not boost the Fishing experience gained from doing drift net fishing or deep sea trawling.

The spirit angler's outfit can be stored in the armour case of a costume room, as well as the tackle box. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces from the costume room until the full set is stored: if two pieces of angler and two pieces of spirit angler are deposited into POH, more angler pieces must be acquired before the deposited angler pieces can be withdrawn and upgraded.

Each outfit piece can be obtained by trading in 1,200 spirit flakes, along with the corresponding angler's outfit piece to Gita Prymes, making the entire outfit cost 4,800 spirit flakes. Spirit flakes are obtained from the reward pool after fighting Tempoross, at a rate of 1/4 to obtain between 32-64 flakes, for an average of 48 flakes per drop, making each permit worth 12 flakes on average.

This gives an expected rate of 400 permits to unlock the entire set.

Once the conversion fee for a given piece has been paid, further conversions to and from the angler's outfit version can be performed at no cost by using it on Gita.

• The spirit angler outfit can be worn in lieu of the angler's outfit to complete the master clue scroll skill challenge assigned by Sherlock, requiring the player to wear the anglers outfit to catch an anglerfish.
