Spirit pools are fishing spots surrounding Tempoross. During the first phase of the encounter, the pools are inactive. It is made active by draining Tempoross' energy to 0%.

Once this occurs, it will submerge and the spirit pools will become active, at which point players must scatter the glowing fish within to shed their magical scales, which drains Tempoross' essence. This gives 55 points and restores 3% run energy for each action during the encounter. Once its essence is drained to 0%, the encounter ends successfully.
