The tackle box can be obtained from fishing at the reward pool with the reward permits gained from subduing Tempoross. The tackle box can be used to store various fishing equipment. It is not possible to use the items whilst they are in the tackle box; for example, players must still have a fishing rod and Sandworms in their inventory to fish Anglerfish even if they have a tackle box with the items stored in their inventory. Additionally, items cannot be stored in the tackle box while in noted form.

While the bank interface is open and the tackle box is in the inventory, players can select the "Use" right-click option to automatically have all unnoted supported items in the inventory deposited into the tackle box. Noted items will not be stored in the tackle box this way.

On a PvP death, tradeable items stored in the tackle box (such as bait) are lost to the attacker, while untradeables are safely sent to your gravestone.

Super fishing potions currently cannot be stored in the tackle box despite being able to store regular fishing potions.

• When attempting to store the tackle box within itself, a message appears saying "The tackle box cannot hold itself! How weird would that be?".
