The Forestry kit is an item worn in the cape slot used to store a variety of Forestry-related items, such as anima-infused bark and tree leaves. It can be obtained for free from the Forestry Shop in Draynor Village, Prifddinas, Seers' Village, or Nemus Retreat. The Forestry kit is required for players to spawn events, meaning at least one player chopping the tree needs to either be wearing one or have one in their inventory.

About and uses

Players can quickly empty the contents of the kit by right-clicking "Use" on the item whilst the bank interface is open. This empties the contents into the inventory, which can then be deposited into the bank.

The contents of the Forestry kit are accessible from any Forestry kit in the player's possession, but if the player destroys their last kit, all contents will be lost. Ultimate Ironmen however, can safely deathpile and allow the kit to despawn without losing its contents.

This item can be stored in the magic wardrobe of a costume room.

When filled with Forester's rations, the Forestry kit can work as a wearable source of run energy if the player is using an axe. When chopping trees successfully, rations have a 30% chance to restore 20% run energy if the player's energy is under 90%. Players who have a Forestry kit with rations whilst having an axe equipped (or in their inventory) can restore their run energy whilst navigating through Gielinor. The Woodcutting to run energy "conversion" is particularly useful whilst performing tasks that integrate Woodcutting as part of the activity such as tree runs and hunter rumours.

Forester's rations themselves have low requirements to make with level 35 Woodcutting and Cooking, cooked meat/cooked fish, and leaves, which are passively gained while Woodcutting. Low levelled accounts, skill pures, or accounts without means to purchase (or create) stamina or energy potions may find this method useful for recovering energy.

Players with the kit can receive the benefits of either the Lumberjack or Forestry outfit without having to wear it by storing it in the clothes pouch, then storing it in the Forestry kit. Doing so requires level 50 Crafting and 50 Woodcutting, and also requires purchasing the clothes pouch blueprint. Players can also store the cape pouch with the clothes pouch with level 99 Woodcutting. The additional experience from the outfit (and cape if stored using the cape pouch) will be awarded even if the Forestry kit remains in the inventory. Wearing any other piece of equipment possessing a set effect of its own will disable the effect of the corresponding stored lumberjack or Forestry outfit piece. For example, wearing the full Graceful outfit will cancel the entire effect of the Lumberjack or Forestry outfit outfit.

Players can combine and detach the Forestry kit with a log basket and sturdy harness to create a temporary Forestry basket.

When the basket is filled, by right clicking the Forestry basket and hovering "View", players can access an "Empty Basket" option. When empty hovering the "Fill" option, players can access a "Log Basket" option.

Additionally, players can empty the log basket’s contents directly into their bank by right clicking the "Use" option.

If selecting "Use" when the basket is empty this option will instead empty the Forestry kit itself. This includes leaves and other items.

Logs stored in the Forestry basket are also deposited when using the Woodcutting Leprechaun.
