Beehive is a Forestry event where a Bee keeper appears asking for help in constructing beehives to rehome friendly bees from a wild beehive.

Overview

Players must use logs from their inventory or log basket to construct livable beehives from unfinished beehives within a certain period. Upon donating logs to these unfinished beehives, players receive Woodcutting and Construction experience as well as anima-infused bark, based on the log they provide. The Bee keeper will spawn as many unfinished beehives within the given period, increasing the chance for players to receive sturdy beehive parts and bonus Woodcutting experience and anima-bark if the unfinished beehives are fully built.

How to play

Unfinished beehives will spawn constantly throughout the event for 250 ticks (or 2 minutes and 30 seconds), or until the player(s) build all six unfinished beehives during the event, whichever comes first. Note that a hammer and saw are not needed for this event whilst building the beehive, as it collects logs and builds itself. These unfinished beehives require different amounts of logs, depending on how many eligible players triggered the event. Like the invisible Woodcutting bonus, up to 10 people are factored into the equation on how many logs are required to build a beehive.

The equation that determines the amount of logs (labeled L) is:

, where x is the number of players cutting the same tree that spawned the event. The highest amount of logs needed for a beehive is 50.

Players receive a scaled amount of Woodcutting and Construction experience based on the logs deposited into the beehive, as explained below. To receive Construction experience during the event, players must already own a player-owned house.

Note that the amount of Woodcutting experience during and after building the beehives may be higher than the values in the table. This is only possible if a player is wearing a piece or set of either the Forestry or Lumberjack outfit, at Seer's Village with the medium Kandarin Diary completed, or with a group of other players on the tree that spawned this event.

Rewards

Drop rates are estimated based on 3,115,927 samples from the Drop Rate Project, unless otherwise cited.

Upon finishing building a beehive, players who contributed at least one log will receive between 25-30 anima bark and the following amount of Woodcutting experience, per beehive they contributed a log to:

Bonus Experience = , where x is the player's Woodcutting level.

There is a 2/3 chance of a receiving a set of sturdy beehive parts upon building a complete beehive.[1] Upon receiving one, it will be placed in the inventory (or on the ground if it is full), and a game message in the chatbox will state The temporary beehive was made so well you take some parts for building a permanent hive. Ten beehive parts are required to build a beehive in both the garden and formal garden rooms in a player-owned house.

Changes

Date Changes

(Update)
  • Smoker canisters are no longer required to trigger the event.
  • Players who are not present when an event spawns will now only receive 1 Woodcutting experience, and are no longer eligible for any rewards, even if they were on the same world.
  • The drop rate for sturdy beehive parts was made a flat 2/3. Previously, it was 1/3 if players did not have the now-removed smoker canister and 2/3 if they did.
