Orikalkum, known to adventurers by the name dragon,[1] is a strong, red metal. While not being an ore that is mineable or smeltable (although reforgeable and repairable) by the player, dragon equipment is still considered as the next level up from rune and thus is included in the metals category. Dragon items typically require level 60 in their respective combat stats to equip.
Orikalkum gravel can be obtained from a number of creatures on Vampyrium, and its examine text notes it as being "unrefined dragon metal", though there is currently no way to refine it.
The dragonkin are the original creators of Orikalkum armour and weaponry,[2] which is nicknamed by adventurers as dragon equipment.
Trivia
- Orikalkum is based on the mythical alloy Orichalcum (or Aurichalcum), a metal associated with Atlantis and found in Plato's writings, and is also used to describe the alloy in some Roman coins. It is currently believed to be a form of brass created by the Greeks.
- An unobtainable dragon bar was present in the cache during the March 2025 Sailing Alpha.
- Some orikalkum equipment supposedly comes from Freneskae, according to the fairy Jukat who sells dragon longswords and dragon daggers.[3]
