The dragon sq shield is the strongest square shield in Old School RuneScape. It requires 60 Defence to wield, along with completion of Legends' Quest. The dragon square shield is created by combining the shield left half, a mega-rare drop from the rare drop table, and the shield right half, which must be purchased for 750,000 coins from Siegfried Erkle in the Legends' Guild or Erdan in the Myths' Guild. The two shield halves are combined at any anvil with a hammer in the inventory to produce the dragon square shield, a process that requires level 60 Smithing and grants 75 experience.
Smithing this shield in West Ardougne is a task required in the hard set of the Ardougne Diary.
A dragon sq shield can be combined with a dragon sq shield ornament kit to make a gold-trimmed dragon sq shield (g). This cosmetic enhancement won't change the stats in any way.
After the completion of Dragon Slayer II, and with level 75 Smithing, the shield may be combined with a dragon metal shard and a dragon metal slice to create a dragon kiteshield.
The dragon sq shield can easily be confused with the anti-dragon shield, which protects against dragonfire. The dragon sq shield does not protect against dragonfire.
