The dragon full helm is a helmet that requires 60 Defence to equip. The dragon full helm gives better defence bonuses than its medium helm counterpart. Due to its high price, and lack of prayer or strength bonuses, it is more often used as a sign of wealth, rather than in combat.

A dragon full helm can be combined with a dragon full helm ornament kit to make a gold-trimmed dragon full helm (g). This cosmetic enhancement won't change the stats in any way.

It is considered a piece of the dragon armour set.

The only way to obtain the dragon full helm is by killing mithril dragons in the Ancient Cavern. The helm can be received from mithril dragons directly as a very rare drop, or from a barbarian spirit after lighting a pyre ship with chewed bones also obtained from mithril dragons.

The drop rate of a dragon full helm from mithril dragons directly is 1/32,768 while the drop rate from chewed bones is 1/256. Chewed bones themselves can only be obtained from mithril dragons as an uncommon drop with a drop rate of 3/128.

Combining both the drop rate from chewed bones and the drop rate of the helm itself, the effective drop rate of the dragon full helm from a mithril dragon is 1/8,192.

The dragon full helm was originally intended to release alongside The Fremennik Isles, but it was cut before release for unknown reasons. Despite this, its models remained unused in the game files, referred to as "fris_dragonhelm". Like the dragon sq shield, it would have been obtained in halves which would have to be combined in some way.

The dragon full helm was given a new model when it was released a few months later with the original version of the Barbarian Training miniquest and the Ancient Cavern.

• When the dragon full helm first came out, its stats beat the 3rd age full helmet's original stats in each section. Jagex then updated the 3rd age full helmet, which made it slightly stronger than the dragon full helm.
