The fighter hat is a piece of members-only armour that requires 45 Defence to wear, and is obtained through the Barbarian Assault minigame. Players with 275 honour points in each role and who have killed the Penance Queen can purchase the hat from Commander Connad, located on the ground floor of the Barbarian Outpost.
The fighter hat is sometimes used in place of the warrior helm and berserker helm. The warrior helm provides slightly better defensive bonuses, but offers an attack bonus to slash only, while the fighter hat also provides attack bonuses to stab and crush. In fact, the +5 stab attack bonus makes the fighter hat the best-in-slot item for stab attack. The berserker helm has slightly better defensive bonuses and provides a strength bonus (+3), but provides no melee attack bonuses. The fighter hat is a popular choice among obsidian maulers that are unable to obtain the Inquisitor's great helm.
If the player dies a PvP death and the item is unprotected, it will remain in the player's inventory; however, the item will be in a broken, unusable state and must be repaired by using it on Perdu and paying him 45,000 coins.
This item can be stored in the armour case of a costume room.
