The stake is a quest item used in the Vampyre Slayer quest. This item is obtained by talking to Dr Harlow at the Blue Moon Inn in Varrock. The player must use the stake, along with a hammer, to kill Count Draynor.

Trivia
- In RuneScape Classic, it was possible to wield this item as a weapon. Its appearance resembled that of a bronze longsword but its stats were weaker than a bronze dagger.
- Count Draynor is the only vampyre that is killed using a stake.
- In the 25th Anniversary event, Dr Harlow provides Gary with some of the logs used to make the stakes as a woodcutting memento. The logs appear to be regular logs from trees, revealing that the stake isn't made out of any special material.
