The soul rift in the Abyss transports players to the Soul Altar in Kourend. It is locked by default, but can be unlocked after players have first crafted soul runes on the altar. At that point, players can use a single dark essence block or dark essence fragments on the rift, which does not consume the dark essence and permanently unlocks free transport through this rift.
