A perfected quetzal whistle is a teleportation item that takes players to any built Quetzal Transport System landing site. When the teleport function is clicked, it will open the transport interface. It cannot be used beyond level 20 Wilderness.

The whistle is made via the right-click "Craft" option on a perfected quetzal whistle blueprint, whilst having an enhanced quetzal whistle, redwood logs, and a knife in the inventory. The blueprints can be obtained from hunters' loot sacks or purchased from other players; players who have completed 250 Hunters' Rumours without ever getting a perfected whistle blueprint will receive an untradeable torn variant from their next hunters' loot sack to be used in crafting the whistle for themselves. Any charges on the enhanced whistle will be transferred to the perfected whistle.

The perfected whistle holds up to 50 charges. The "Check" option will display a message containing the whistle's remaining charges, ex. Your quetzal whistle has 4 charges remaining.. Lastly, the "Rumour" option on the whistle will remind players of their active rumour, ex. Your current rumour target is a grey chinchompa. You'll need to bring back some of its fur. Quetzal whistles may be used to teleport to any built landing site in the Quetzal Transport System without needing to unlock Renu during Twilight's Promise.

There is an option in the game settings to configure the quetzal whether to open a map or directly teleport you to the guild. The tickbox for this can be found under the Gameplay section.

If lost, the quetzal whistle can be reclaimed from Soar Leader Pitri.

Quetzal whistles are charged by bringing the whistle, alongside certain raw meats from hunter creatures, to Soar Leader Pitri; the amount of charges provided are dependent on the type of meat given. Additionally, the raw meat must be present in the player's inventory, not as banknotes or stored in a meat pouch.

While players can have multiple quetzal whistles in their inventory, only the first whistle will be charged. Additionally, recharging will use raw meat until the whistle is fully charged; any charges beyond the maximum capacity of the whistle will be lost.

Hunters' Rumours are effective ways to get charges via quetzal feed and raw meat. With 69 Hunter, dashing kebbits become a good alternate option.

An imbued perfected whistle with unlimited charges can be obtained by giving Soar Leader Pitri 10,000 charges worth of hunter meat while in possession of a perfected whistle. When turning these in, they can be in the form of banknotes, and in partial amounts. Once obtained, subsequent imbued whistles can be purchased from Pitri for 50,000 coins coins each.

This is a potential reference to a frequently discussed "plot hole" in the Lord of the Rings series^[1].
