The Chronicle is an equipable book that can be used to teleport the player to just outside the Champions' Guild, making it useful for players who plant seeds in Bush and Hops patches as well as free-to-play ironmen. The teleport is also a short distance from Charlie the Tramp, making it useful for those doing beginner clues.

During the 2016 Easter event, players were able to acquire it for free by defeating the Chocolate Chicken during the event. It can now be purchased from Diango's Toy Store for 300 coins. If the player has a copy of the Chronicle in the inventory or bank, trying to buy another one from Diango will fail, and the user will receive the following message: "You've already got one of those." However, it is possible to own more than one Chronicle if buying them from Perdu.

In order to use the Chronicle, it must be charged with teleport cards. Players can purchase them from Diango's Toy Store at a base price of 150 coins each. The book can hold a maximum of 1,000 charges, with one being used each time the Chronicle is used to teleport. Upon death, when not an item kept on death, it is destroyed. If the Chronicle is lost or destroyed, it retains its charges if bought back.

The Chronicle's powers do not work in the Wilderness.

• This item was released to commemorate open beta access to Jagex's online card game Chronicle: RuneScape Legends, which was shut down in 2018. The item's name and examine text are references to that game.
• This is one of only three equipable books in F2P, the others being the Cruciferous codex and the Book of egg.
• The cards from Diango are 150 while Varrock Teleport (tablet) varies in price on the GE and is typically more expensive; if you don't need to get to the GE but just to Varrock, consider using this to save a bit of money.
