The goblin paint cannon is a two-handed weapon that can be bought from Diango's Toy Store in Draynor Village for 225 coins. It was first introduced during the 2014 Goblin Invasion event, when it could be obtained by speaking to either the Goblin Recruiter or the Guard Recruiter, depending on whose side you joined. Opposing goblins or guards could be covered in paint using the cannon, which would make them attackable.

It is one of the only four melee weapons with an attack speed of 3, with the other ones being the swift blade, ham joint, and mystic cards, with the latter also being a two handed weapon. The swift blade also exclusively uses Stab and Slash attack styles whereas the others use Crush, and the mystic cards have negative combat stat bonuses whereas the others have no bonuses. Because of this, it is commonly used with lower level PvP builds especially among players with 1 Attack where its attack speed out-performs other weapons of a similar tier like the iron scimitar.

While having a goblin paint cannon equipped, other players will have a right-click "Paint" option listed in their choose option menu. Doing this will result in your character performing the spin emote before shooting out what looks like a huge ball of paint. The player will miss their shot in the majority of cases, causing the glob of paint to fly off in a random direction. However, there is a 1 in 15 chance the projectile will connect with the target when you right-click paint someone, which is confirmed by a message saying By some miracle you hit the target! appearing in the chatbox.^[1]

Using this ability will not deal damage in any way, regardless whether the target is a player or a NPC, or if the player is currently in PvP or the Wilderness.

• Prior to being renamed in September 2022, the weapon's right-click option on players was "360NoScope-paint", and was a reference to the 360-No-Scope internet meme, in which a player in a shooter game spins around 360 degrees and instantly kills another player with a sniper rifle weapon without using its scope.
• Despite being a weapon, the Goblin paint cannon can be brought to Entrana and into Glarial's Tomb.
• Despite its behaviour as a ranged weapon, it is classified as a melee weapon.
• This item's original name is a nod to the fixed device's unique appearance resembling an RPG.
• The inventory icon of the goblin paint cannon appears to be upside down.
• The exhaust of the goblin paint cannon is made up of nine small doors, specifically the door to the garden shed in Fenkenstrain's Castle.
