Cattleprod | OSRS Index

The cattleprod is a quest item used in Sheep Herder. It can be found next to the incinerator in the fenced off pen north of East Ardougne or taken from the cattle prod supply next to the Wyrmscraig Goat hunting area on Wyrmscraig.

It is used to prod sick-looking sheep in order to move them from their habitats into the pen to be incinerated and to prod Wyrmscraig Goats when goat hunting.

It has the same combat stats as a bronze dagger.

18 April 2005 (Update)	The item was renamed from "Prod" to "Cattleprod". The item's examine was changed from "An old cattle prod." to "A sharp cattleprod."

Prior to the release of goat hunting, the only way to obtain a cattleprod was from the item spawn in the sheep pen. However, if the plague suit required to access the pen was not kept after completion of Sheep Herder, the pen could not be re-entered, meaning that the cattleprod could become unobtainable post-quest.
