Overview
All players begin the Demonic Pacts League with Druidic Ritual autocompleted and level 3 Herblore, allowing for immediate training of the skill.
Herbs can be acquired through Farming or monster drops. One herb patch is available in Varlamore, west of Civitas illa Fortis. A pestle and mortar can be bought from several general stores in Varlamore; there is also one dedicated herblore shop, Huito's Herbal Supplies in Cam Torum, which also sells vials of water and eyes of newt.
At level 60 Herblore, Mastering Mixology becomes available on Aldarin. As it does not require herblore secondaries, it may be more efficient XP per herb than sourcing secondaries for making potions.
If not taking Herblore-related relics, it may be beneficial to wait for increased XP modifiers at higher tiers before training Herblore extensively, for much faster XP.
Herblore is modified by the following relics:
Friendly Forager gives the player the forager's pouch, which acts as a silklined herb sack and automatically collects grimy herbs when collecting resources from Woodcutting, Fishing, Mining, and Hunter. These herbs are limited to your Herblore level + 25 levels. Additionally, all Herblore items are processed at once, herblore secondaries have a 90% chance to be saved (stacking additively with other items, such as the prescription goggles), and potions created will have 4 doses instead of 3. This removes the need for amulets of chemistry or the alchemist's amulet.
Butler's Bell allows the player to summon a demon butler who can perform various activities for them, including farming herbs (10 per minute) and converting herbs into unfinished potions (5 per minute), even when offline. Making unfinished potions will give 10 Herblore XP per resource processed.
Additionally, these relics can assist in acquiring herb seeds and growing herbs through Farming:
Nature's Accord makes it so farming patches and plants no longer have any level requirements to plant or harvest. Additionally, you receive 10x yield from patches, automatically noted with XP granted for all additional resources; your plants will never die; and you have a 20% chance to not use a seed or sapling when planting them.
Woodsman gives random herb seeds when Hunter traps are harvested.
Larcenist gives a 100% success rate on Thieving actions, automatically re-pickpockets, and increases the loot received by pickpocketing by 10x. This can be used to acquire large numbers of seeds from pickpocketing farmers and Master Farmers.
Transmute allows herb seeds to be converted into other "tiers", allowing for turning less-useful seeds into more-useful ones. Additionally, with Kebos and Kourend
unlocked, you can receive essentially infinite herb seeds by transmuting tree seeds into Spirit seeds, trading them to Guildmaster Jane for tier 5 Seed packs, opening the seed packs for further tree seeds (and receiving herb seeds as a byproduct), and repeating.
Training
The most useful potions to create for training purposes are prayer potions, super attack potions, super strength potions, super defence potions, super restores, and Saradomin brews. Alternatively, players may train by creating herb tar, although it may be difficult to obtain enough swamp tar to sustain this method. At level 60, the Mastering Mixology minigame also becomes available.
Depending on region, players will find some ingredients more easier to obtain than others: the Wilderness provides large amounts of secondaries such as red spiders' eggs, limpwurt roots, and wines of Zamorak; Fremennik
is good for snape grass and white berries, as well as the only source of Superior dragon bones other than the Transmute relic; the Desert
is good for potato cacti, etc.
Zahur may be paid 200gp per item to clean herbs and, with completion of the Desert Hard Diary, create unfinished potions. She can also decant potions for free, providing missing vials for 2gp each.
If unlocked, potion storage can be used to decant more conveniently.
Obtaining herbs
Herbs are usually obtained from Farming or monster drops. For more details on acquiring seeds and improving Farming success rates, see the Farming guide.
With Asgarnia unlocked, players can purchase magic secateurs, which increase the number of herbs obtained when harvesting herbs.
If Kourend is unlocked, planting an Attas seed in the Farming Guild will increase the chance of saving a harvest life by 5%, therefore increasing herbs obtained from farming. These can be obtained from fighting Hespori.

Many useful rewards can be obtained from the minigame, such as the alchemist's amulet, prescription goggles, and aldarium, which is used to make goading potions and prayer regeneration potions.
