The sunlight moth is a creature found in the Avium Savannah, directly south of the Hunter Guild, that players can catch at level 65 Hunter with a butterfly net and jar. Players with level 75 Hunter can catch sunlight moths barehanded. Sunlight moths may be assigned as a hunters' rumour task starting at level 75 by Guild Hunters Gilman, Cervus, or Teco.

Capturing a sunlight moth without a jar or opening a jarred sunlight moth restores 6 + 20% of a player's reduced stats (excluding prayer), and heals 8 Hitpoints (as of December 21st, 2025, the sunlight moth does not restore lowered Sailing levels). Capturing the moth also restores 5% of the player's run energy, however this effect does not extend to the jarred sunlight moth or the Sunlight moth mix Hunter mix.

In a multi-combat zone, the item may be used on another player to share the healing and stat-restoring effects with them and up to three players within a 5x5 area of the target. Players must have Accept Aid toggled on to receive the boost.
