A sunlight moth is an item that is obtained from catching sunlight moths, which requires level 65 Hunter and a butterfly net and jar. Players with level 75 Hunter can catch sunlight moths barehanded.
Once caught, players can right-click "Release" the filled butterfly jar to restore 6 + 20% of a player's reduced stats (excluding Prayer), as well as 8 Hitpoints (as of December 21st, 2025, the sunlight moth does not restore lowered sailing levels). In a multi-combat zone, the item may be used on another player to share the effect with them and up to three players within a 5x5 area of the target. Players must have Accept Aid toggled on to receive the effect. The empty butterfly jar will remain in the inventory after use.
With a pestle and mortar, players can combine the moth with raw hunter meat to create sunlight moth mix (2).
