The barb-tailed kebbit is a kebbit that players can capture via a deadfall trap with the Hunter skill at level 33 or above, granting 168 Hunter experience. Barb-tailed kebbits may be assigned as a hunters' rumour task by Huntmaster Gilman.

The hunting technique used for catching these kebbits is the deadfall trap. To set up a deadfall trap, the player will need a knife and some logs. After setting up a trap, just wait for a kebbit to get stuck underneath it.

These kebbits drop Barb-tail harpoons, a wieldable harpoon for Fishing. The raw meat given after a successful capture can be stored in a meat pouch.
