A moonlight moth is an item that is obtained from catching moonlight moths, which require level 75 Hunter and a butterfly net and jar. Players with level 85 Hunter can catch moonlight moths barehanded.

Once caught, players can right-click "Release" the filled butterfly jar to restore 22 Prayer points. In a multi-combat zone, the item may be used on another player to share the effect with them and up to three players within a 5x5 area of the target if the players have Accept Aid toggled on. The empty butterfly jar will remain in the inventory after use. For Group Ironmen, the moonlight moth cannot be shared, while the Moonlight moth mix can.

The effect of the holy wrench does not apply to this item.

With a pestle and mortar, players can combine a Moonlight Moth with raw hunter meat to create moonlight moth mix (2).
