Unrestricted world
Players in the Unrestricted worlds.

Unrestricted worlds, also known as tournament worlds, all-access worlds or beta worlds, refer to special servers for members that are run seperate from the main game, meaning anything a player does in these servers will not affect their progress in the normal servers. They are usually open for short periods of time.

Players have access to the Boss helper tool, allowing them to customise stats, gear, and supplies, and to instantly unlock content such quests, Achievement Diaries, and objects in the player-owned house. The tool can also be used to change spellbooks and to teleport to a variety of bosses and other locations. Previously a supply table and altar was provided instead of a boss helper tool, that also allowed for access to gear and spellbook, respectively.

Beyond their intended purpose, these worlds are ideal for practicing activities that require certain stats, requirements, and items in order to do (such as bossing), that the player does not have on their standard account; or, alternatively, if they want to practice something without risk, like someone who is normally HCIM practicing Galvek. Some betas, however, restrict players from accessing certain content such as Awakened Desert Treasure II bosses so not to trivialise their difficulty.

The full list of items that players can obtain from the boss helper tool.

Players have the option, via the settings menu, of cloning a main game account for use in the beta worlds, or to reset the beta world save, placing the character at Lumbridge as if they had just finished Tutorial Island. This can be done an unlimited amount of times while the beta world is active. However, if players never chose either option and decide to log in to beta worlds, they would be placed at the start of Tutorial Island with the option to skip the tutorial process.

The Grand Exchange is sometimes disabled on unrestricted worlds, in which cases attempting to access it gives a full chatbox message: "You cannot use the Grand Exchange on this world." In other cases it remains active and any offers cloned from the main game are replaced with Dwarf remains.

During the final hour, an overlay is always visible telling players whether they are safe or not, and giving them ample time to move to a safe area. This was done so that players are more likely to die to other players rather than the environment.

Players were also given a player-owned house fully furnished with the highest level furnitures for all rooms.

A group of players take on the Chaos Elemental in Kourend Castle.

In celebration of the upcoming All Stars: PvP Championship, four public unrestricted worlds have been added, with four other unrestricted worlds reserved for the competition's participants to privately practice in. Like the Raids Rewards beta, this iteration of the unrestricted world is also open world. However, a few new features have been added to the unrestricted world in addition to what's already available.

Periodically, bosses will spawn in one of five locations (Falador Park/Castle, Al Kharid, Burthorpe, Barbarian Village and Kourend Castle) and is broadcasted in the player's chatbox. Players can access these locations through the hub portal just west of the bank, but are recommended to take a ring of dueling from the supplies table before leaving in order to quickly return. In addition, Ancient Warriors' equipment, which is normally exclusive to seasonal deadman mode worlds, is made available to all players.

The supplies table also offers pre-loaded equipment and inventories based on a player's preference for fighting players and monsters:

There is also an additional yellow portal near the hub portal, the Jad-fest portal, that is currently inaccessible. During RuneFest 2018, this portal was accessible in an unrestricted world accessible only on-site and allowed players to choose how many JalTok-Jads they wished to face, up to six.

In preparation for the All Stars: PVP Championships, many equipment such as the toxic blowpipe, Ancient Warriors' equipment and upgraded spirit shields were removed from the supplies table in an update on 22 November, as the worlds that will be used for the championships uses the same supplies table[1].

Changes

Date Changes
9 July 2015
(Update)

The top two floors of the Lumbridge castle tournament arena map have been removed to prevent players repeatedly going up and down the stairs to lengthen games.

9 July 2015
(Update)
  • Unrestricted tournament worlds are released.
  • Accounts are set to max stats.
  • All quests and achievement diaries are completed.
  • All desirable PvP gear and equipment is unlimited.
  • 5 versus 5 wars are added.
  • Each group must have 5 player in each friends chat.
    • Tournament arena maps are added of Lumbridge Castle and Falador Park
  • It is not possible to leave the clan wars area.

Trivia

  • While the high-end account that all players share on unrestricted worlds has completed all quests, miniquests, achievement diaries, and has unlocked all music tracks, they have not gone through the tutorials for many minigames and activities, such as Soul Wars and Gnome Restaurant, that would be prerequisites for much of that progress.
  • The account's Fremennik name is Dalkar Drapare, their vampyric name is Leardin Caermoran, and their goblin name is Wartface.
  • According to the quest journal, it appears the shared account joined the Phoenix Gang in Shield of Arrav, supported Hazeel's followers in Hazeel Cult, banished Lucien in Temple of Ikov, and told the penguins that Farmer Fred was the King of Lumbridge in Cold War. In addition, despite having completed the elite Falador Diary, they have zero black knight kills (theoretically possible if it was lowered by killing white knights afterwards).
  • During the DT2 Rewards Beta, the 2023 Easter event was active though marked as incomplete.
  • During the 2024 run energy and Wintertodt betas, citizens of Falador were constantly announcing a party at the Falador Party Room.
