Ents are monsters found in the dungeon beneath the Woodcutting Guild and in the forests north and east of the Chaos Temple. Ents are found on members' worlds exclusively.

Upon death, the ent's trunk will fall and remain on the ground for 1 minute. These remains can be chopped to give several sets of noted logs according to the player's Woodcutting level. Players also have a chance to receive a bird nest while chopping the ent trunk. While cutting the trunk, players get 25 experience per set of logs received no matter the type. Completing the medium Wilderness Diary increases the chance of successfully chopping ents in the Wilderness by 15%.^[1] Ents can be safespotted by moving 1-3 tiles adjacent to a tree and using a ranged weapon, halberd, or magic attack.

Chopping the trunks requires an axe that the player has the Woodcutting level to use. The type of logs that can be received is determined by a player's base Woodcutting level, with higher levels giving better logs. The chance to successfully receive logs is determined by the player's current Woodcutting level (boosted or drained), with higher levels increasing success chance. The distribution of log types is determined by the axe used, with better axes providing a greater amount of higher tier logs.

While Ents do drop slayer's enchantments, while on a Wilderness slayer task, they do not drop looting bags or Larran's keys.^[2] Unlike logs which are chopped from the trunk, slayer's enchantments are dropped when the ent is killed.

Ent trunks are only choppable by the player who originally killed the ent. When an ent dies its trunk lasts for 101 ticks (60.6 seconds), so chopping it as soon as it appears gives 25 chances to receive logs. In the Wilderness, the ent respawns 15 ticks after the log despawns, for a total of 116 ticks from death to respawn. In the Woodcutting Guild, this takes 50 ticks, for a total of 151 from death to respawn.

Notes: These values are based off base Woodcutting level as neither visible nor invisible boosts affect the resulting loot roll. Ents in the Wilderness will give twice as many logs as those in the Woodcutting Guild regardless of the medium Wilderness diary being completed or not, with the Diary boost affecting the skilling success chance of accessing the loot table itself.

Based on the below data, regular logs are not dropped once you reach level 45 Woodcutting, yew logs are only obtainable at level 61 woodcutting or above, and magic logs are only obtainable at level 75 woodcutting or above.

If a log is chopped as soon as it appears, there will be 25 attempts to receive logs.

In the Wilderness, 2 noted logs drop on each success instead of 1 in the Woodcutting Guild.
