Runite golems can be found in the Wilderness Resource Area east of the Deserted Keep. When one is killed, its head becomes a runite rock, which can be mined by anyone with 85 Mining for 1 minute before despawning. The golem will respawn 5 minutes afterward, and there are only two of them in each world.

The player's Mining skill modifies the accuracy and maximum hit possible while in combat against the golem.

This means that players can expect to miss frequently and hit for low amounts if they're killing a runite golem with a mining level below 90. Players can also expect a 10% damage and accuracy bonus with a mining level of 99. Using a pickaxe specifically to deal damage does not seem to grant any additional benefits.

The expert mining gloves do not prevent ore depletion when mining a runite golem head despite working on other runite ore sources.

Mining a runite golem head is a required step for a task in the elite Wilderness Diary.

Bug:

If the golem takes another hit after it is killed, it will cause the runite rock to despawn (for example, the second arrow of a dark bow).

• Killing the golem with a multi-hit weapon (such as the twinflame staff) can cause the runite rocks it leaves behind to take damage. The runite rocks only have 1 hp, and leave normal bones when killed
