Abyssal pearls are items obtained from the Rewards Guardian after completing a round of Guardians of the Rift. They are used to purchase items from Temple Supplies, the shop run by Apprentice Felix near the entrance to the minigame. The rewards are helpful items for training Runecraft, including the Raiments of the Eye outfit pieces costing 1,350 abyssal pearls. The average number of abyssal pearls per search is 2.14 (2.41 when exchanging lanterns and dyes),^[1] thus making 630 (or 560 when exchanging special items) the average number of searches required to complete the full Raiments of the Eye set if no duplicate items or excess dyes are traded in.^[2] While abyssal pearls cannot be traded or exchanged for coins, 400 pearls can be used to purchase a ring of the elements from Temple Supplies, which puts the value of an abyssal pearl at 1,507.68.

Aside from items sold in the Temple Supplies shop, players may also purchase an abyssal lantern from Apprentice Felix for 1,500 pearls, through dialogue. They may also sell abyssal lanterns to Felix for 100 pearls, and abyssal dyes for 50 pearls. Players may also pay Apprentice Cordelia 1 pearl to repair their essence pouches in place of the Dark Mage, after unlocking the service for an initial 25 pearls. Lastly, players can use 25 pearls on the Rewards Guardian for an additional loot roll.
