Guardian essence is an item obtained during the Guardians of the Rift minigame. Guardian essence can be stored in essence pouches. This item can be obtained by using guardian fragments on the workbench in the Guardians of the Rift minigame. Alternatively, this item can be obtained by mining the huge guardian remains or fallen guardians which provide essence rather than fragments like the other guardian remains.

Note: The experience is , clamped between 1 and 5 experience (1xp below level 10; 5xp above level 50, or using the formula otherwise).

The doubling effect of certain mining enhancers—such as Varrock armour (all tiers) and charged celestial rings—will apply when mining for guardian essence.
