Daeyalt essence is an untradeable type of essence used in Runecraft. It is obtained in the daeyalt essence mine by trading daeyalt shards with Noranna Tytanin, who can be found near the exit in the north-east area of the mine. Each daeyalt shard trades for a single daeyalt essence, and all essence is sent directly to the player's bank (except in the case of UIMs, who can only trade for as much essence as their inventory can currently hold).

If The Blood Moon Rises is not progressed to the final fight with Drakan, then Vyre noble clothing must be worn to trade in the shards for daeyalt essence. Mining the daeyalt shards requires level 60 Mining and completion of Sins of the Father.

Daeyalt essence acts the same way as regular essence does, being able to be stored in essence pouches. However, it gives 50% extra experience per essence. This bonus is multiplicative with the 70% bonus at the Ourania Altar, for a total bonus of 155% extra experience. Above 90 Runecrafting one can expect to average roughly 23 experience per Daeyalt essence at the Ourania altar. Daeyalt essence cannot be used in place of dark essence fragments at the Kourend's Blood and Soul Altars.

Using a mixture of daeyalt essence and pure essence in the same runecrafting trip will result in the daeyalt essence being used first and a second craft-runes action on the altar is required to then craft using the pure essence. Because of this, Achievement Diary tasks will fail unless you only use one type of essence.
