The blisterwood tree is a special tree that grows in Darkmeyer, sealed inside the Arboretum. The trees were grown by Queen Efaritay of Hallowvale, who was also a renowned botanist that bred all kinds of plant life to use against the vampyres. The tree is particularly effective and harmful against vampyres, as the sap is poisonous to them and its wood is capable of twisting unpredictably even after the logs have been cut and processed.

Despite many attempts to kill it, the tree still survives in the highly secured vault. During Sins of the Father, the player manages to gain access to the Arboretum and obtain some blisterwood logs, which they use to enhance the Ivandis flail into a blisterwood flail.

Bird nests are not dropped and Forestry events cannot spawn when woodcutting at the blisterwood tree.

The blisterwood tree has a 1/10 chance of "depleting" with every log chopped. When this happens, the player stops woodcutting and must click again to resume.

Trivia

  • Unlike most trees, when the blisterwood tree "depletes", instead of being chopped down into a stump, it spawns a spider, along with a chat message stating A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut.
  • During the Demonic Pacts League, players with Endless Harvest would instead get the chat messages: A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut. It lands next to your foot., A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut. It bounces off your axe as you swing at the tree., A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut. It does a flip. Cool!, A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut. You ignore it. and, A small spider jumps at you from the log you just cut. You brush it off your shoulder.
  • Using Secateurs on the blisterwood tree fails with the message The branches on this blisterwood tree are too strong to be cut with secateurs.
  • If a player uses a Herring on the blisterwood tree the chatbox will state This is indeed a mighty tree. But alas, it is not the mightiest tree in the forest.A reference to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
