The Mind Altar is a runic altar upon which mind runes are crafted from rune essence or pure essence, providing 5.5 Runecraft experience per essence imbued. Level 2 Runecraft is required to craft mind runes.

Players may create a mind tiara here by using either a mind talisman or a tiara on the altar whilst having both in their inventory, granting 27.5 Runecraft experience. A catalytic tiara can also be created here by using a catalytic talisman and gold tiara, granting 60 Runecraft experience.

Upon entering the Mind Altar, the music track Miracle Dance plays.

The entrance to the altar can be found between Ice Mountain and Goblin Village, the altar can also be accessed through the Abyss. The Mind Altar Teleport can be used to teleport to the altar.

To enter the mysterious ruins, players either have to use a mind talisman on the ruins, or click "Enter" on the ruins while wearing a mind tiara or the runecrafting cape. Alternatively, a catalytic talisman or tiara can be used.

The maximum amount of mind runes that can be crafted in one run is 2256, by carrying one giant pouch full of essence and 27 mind cores with a Runecraft level of at least 98 (at level 98 players get eight times the amount of mind runes per essence). This would give 1,551 experience.

However, obtaining considerable amounts of mind cores is time-consuming.

The maximum amount of mind runes crafted in one run without using cores is 536. This would be achieved by having 98 Runecraft and carrying 67 essence to craft (27 in the normal inventory along with 40 in a Colossal pouch). This would result in 368.5 experience.
