The Body Altar is a runic altar upon which body runes are crafted from rune essence or pure essence, providing 7.5 Runecraft experience per essence imbued. Players can also use a body core to craft body runes, which provides 75 Runecraft experience per core. Level 20 Runecraft is required to craft body runes.

Players may create a body tiara here by using either a body talisman or a tiara on the altar whilst having both in their inventory, granting 37.5 Runecraft experience. A catalytic tiara can also be created here by using a catalytic talisman and gold tiara, granting 60 Runecraft experience.

Upon entering the Body Altar, the music track Heart and Mind plays.

The entrance to the altar can be found south of the Edgeville Monastery, between Ice Mountain and Barbarian Village, the altar can also be accessed through the Abyss.

To enter the mysterious ruins, players either have to use a body talisman on the ruins, or click "Enter" on the ruins while wearing a body tiara. Alternatively, a catalytic talisman or tiara can be used.

The nearest bank is in Edgeville.

The maximal amount of body runes that can be crafted in one run is 846, by carrying one Giant pouch full of essence and 27 body cores with a Runecraft level of at least 92 (at level 92 players get triple the amount of body runes per essence). This would give 2115 experience.

However, obtaining considerable amounts of body cores is time-consuming.

The maximal amount of body runes crafted in one run without using cores is 162. This would be achieved by having 92 Runecraft and carrying 54 essence to craft (24 in the normal inventory along with 30 in the 4 sizes of essence pouches). This would result in 405 experience.

Slightly more experience can be obtained by crafting body tiaras. A full inventory with 14 tiaras and 14 body talismans would give 525 experience. This is more click-intensive and expensive.

• When you enter the Body Altar, you spawn on the north of the altar away from the portal unlike the other altars. Curiously, the portal is found in the southern area.
• The shape of the temple on the map looks vaguely like a heart and floor colour is pink which matches the heart's colour.
• During the music piece, "Heart and Mind" (which is unlocked by entering the Body Altar), players can hear a beat that sounds like the beating of the heart.
