Container items

Container items are items that contain other items, which can serve to effectively expand the inventory beyond 28 slots or increase available bank space.

The following table lists containers with the most practical utility; items can be put into them or taken out, and they are often used to increase experience rates by reducing the amount of time spent interacting with or travelling to a bank. Banks have an "empty containers" button that deposits the contents of all containers in the inventory, though it only works for certain items.

Chargeable items can often have the charges added or removed freely. This doesn't typically serve the same function of saving inventory space, but it can in theory, especially for ultimate ironmen.

It is also common for chargeable items to accept items without any way to extract them.

Some items only allow players to withdraw specific, known items, in some cases destroying the container in the process.

Rewards from minigames/activities or monsters often come in the form of items that can be opened or unpacked to obtain useful resources. The containers are destroyed in the process, leaving only their contents (bird nests are an exception, as they always yield empty nests).

The following items are conceptually containers, but do not have any items inside. For example, it may be possible to fill them with water or milk, or with imaginary goods like "ripe grapes" that have no corresponding tangible item.
