The bonecrusher is a reward from the hard Morytania Diary. Players can obtain a bonecrusher from a ghost disciple in the Ectofuntus building whilst wearing a Ghostspeak amulet (or Morytania legs).

When charged with ecto-tokens and carried in the inventory, the bonecrusher will automatically crush bones dropped by monsters on death. This grants the player half the Prayer experience they would have received from burying the bones themselves, or the full amount if the elite Morytania Diary is completed, and consumes one charge. The effect can be toggled with the right-click "Activity" option. A good method to obtain consistent charges is to offer the free bonemeal and buckets of slime from Robin that are given daily as part of the Morytania diary rewards.

The bonecrusher will also work on bones placed into the inventory by Hunter creatures that do so, such as those located in the Piscatoris falconry area. However, the bonecrusher does not crush bones obtained as a tertiary drop. This includes drops such as long and curved bones. Bones dropped as notes are also not affected by the bonecrusher.

Bones crushed with the bonecrusher in the Catacombs of Kourend will trigger the catacombs' Prayer restoration effect. Bones crushed while wearing a dragonbone necklace will also trigger its Prayer restoration effect. Note that these two effects do not stack with each other.

The bonecrusher can be combined with the dragonbone necklace and a hydra tail to create the bonecrusher necklace, which combines the effects of both the dragonbone necklace and the bonecrusher. Players cannot have both a bonecrusher necklace and a bonecrusher simultaneously.

It is always kept on PvM Death. Should the player die in PvP and it is not one of their protected items, it will be sent to a gravestone. In all cases, the bonecrusher will retain all of its charges.

The bonecrusher will not affect demonic ashes. For this, use the Ash sanctifier. For spectral creatures that do not drop ashes or bones, use the Ectoplasmator.

The bonecrusher must be charged with ecto-tokens to function, gaining 25 charges per ecto-token used. One charge is used per bone crushed. The charge limit is 2,147,483,647. Players can configure the charges while the bonecrusher is in their bank by right-clicking on Configure-Charges, as long as players have the required materials.

Uncharging the bonecrusher will return one ecto-token per 25 charges stored. Leftover charges less than 25 will remain on the bonecrusher. It cannot be uncharged a second time to remove the remaining charges, however, destroying the bonecrusher will remove them.

• The original bonecrusher model was made by Mod Ash, a content developer, as the artist team was busy on other diary items. It was made by loading the glowing dagger model from Legends' Quest and deforming it into resembling the bonecrusher in RuneScape 3.^[2]
